The Department for Education is requesting every Admissions Authority to make a statutory change to their rules at the next opportunity (i.e. for the 2020 admissions round) to add a new rule for children previously looked after from outside England (e.g. adopted from overseas).
In addition Oxfordshire County Council will be consulting on non-statutory changes to their Admissions Policy from 1 September 2020. As our policy is to follow the current published LA admission arrangements for Years 7 to 11 at community and voluntary controlled secondary schools, we are consulting to make the same changes.
At the request of Buckinghamshire County Council, we are also consulting on extending our designated area to include Frieth Church of England Primary School’s catchment area to ensure their pupils have an appropriate alternative if Great Marlow School is over-subscribed. We are also proposing some other small changes, for example to include the housing development at Highlands Farm within our designated area.
You can respond to this consultation by responding to our short survey (click here) or by emailing email@example.com. Written responses may be sent to:
Glynis Smith, Clerk to the Governing Body, Gillotts School, Gillotts Lane, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1PS
The consultation opens on 1 October 2018 and closes on Monday 12 November 2018. The Admissions Policy for September 2020 will be determined at the meeting of the full Governing Body on 4 December 2018 and will be published on the school website.
